EVND provides Neurofeedback Services to any patient with less than optimal brain functioning. Neurofeedback therapy stimulates neuroplasticity to rebalance brain waves and improved communication between the numerous hubs and networks in the brain. Neurofeedback reduces symptoms by improving self-regulation in children with ASD, ADHD, LD, and SPD through balancing brain rhythms or electrical patterns. Neurofeedback is able to reduce sensory “overload”, improve behavioral dysregulation and communication and enhance learning. Neurofeedback therapy can be used on its own, and enhance other treatments such as speech and occupational therapy. Improvements reported include increase in verbal and social engaging, reduced self stimulatory behavior(i.e. hand flapping), improvement in following through with verbal requests, increase in empathy, better focus, less impulsivity, better sleep onset and duration, less anxiety, improved behavior, and improved sensory response. For children with ASD, LD, ADHD, and SPD neurofeedback therapy presents an incredibly safe option for managing and reducing challenges while improving quality of life.
My journey into the world of the brain began when one of my children was diagnosed with Autism and PANDAS. We struggled to find effective therapies to support our daughters ability to self regulate and be able to learn. In my obsessive searching for answers and integrative therapies I discovered Neurofeedback therapy. My daughter was treated with amazing results. Recognizing this service was being under utilized I became a certified therapist in order to provide this beneficial therapy to children with Autism and other Neurodevelopmental disorders
Dr. Jason Porter is a 2003 graduate of the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (recently renamed Sonoran University) in Tempe, Arizona, USA. He is the co-founder of East Valley Naturopathic Doctors and the Brain Regeneration Clinic both located in Mesa, Arizona. Dr. Porter is credited for development of a precision based clinic for brain rehabilitation and for optimization of peak performance using Biofeedback techniques including EEG targeted Neurofeedback therapy as a Board Certified Neurotherapist (BCN).
Before completing naturopathic medical school, Dr. Porter attended Arizona State University where he completed his bachelors in Exercise Science. Dr. Porter has advanced training courses in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), Biofeedback and Neurofeedback Therapy (Board Certified), Genetics, physical manipulation, ozone therapy, nutrient IV therapy, Stem cell, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Prolotherapy, IV chelation therapy(nationally certified), environmental medicine, hormone replacement, Lyme disease, sports medicine, and nutrient/amino acid therapies for optimal brain functioning. Dr. Porter’s education and professional training continues through many organizations including the International Society on Neurofeedback and Regulation (ISNR).
In his private practice, Dr. Porter focuses on the treatment and recovery from chronic illness by restoring function to the endocrine, immune, and central nervous systems. He has developed a unique process for evaluating and treating chronic illness, that allows severely ill patients to recover from hopeless and confusing conditions. Dr. Porter has been able to infuse naturopathic medicine modalities with Neurofeedback and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to improve cognition, mood, energy, sleep, and stress response, allowing chronically ill children and adults to return to optimal brain functioning.
