Build Your Team Criteria

How to Use the Build Your Team Search Tool

The Build Your Team tool helps families quickly find educational providers that match their needs. It combines a search form, a results list, and an interactive map. You can search online or in-person providers, filter by services, and visually explore locations.

1. Starting a Search

When you open the tool, you’ll see a form called Build Your Team Criteria. This is where you choose what kind of provider you’re looking for.

Online – find providers who work remotely with families everywhere.
In-Person – find providers who can travel to your location. Enter your maximum distance (miles) and your address (auto-complete helps you pick a valid location).

2. Narrowing Your Results

You can filter providers by:

School Experience – Public, Charter, Private, Microschools, Pods, Hybrid.
Learner Grade Level – Pre-K through 12, Vocational, College, Remedial, Dual Enrollment.
Needs – Tutoring, Therapy, Enrichment, Counseling, Consulting, Schools, Curriculum, Products.
Subject Categories – Math, Science, English, History, Languages, Art, Music, Sports, Technology, Life Skills, etc.
ESA Vendor – filter to providers who accept ESA funding (Class Wallet/Direct Pay, etc.).
DPS Background Check – show only providers with an AZ IVP fingerprint card.
Spanish Speaking – find bilingual/Spanish-speaking providers.
Service Type – Hourly (use the rate slider), Free, or Products and Schools.

3. Viewing Results

The results page shows:

Map (left) – markers for each provider.
List (right) – provider cards with photo, name, join date, reviews, and action buttons.

4. Interactive Map & List

Click a provider’s photo in the list – map pans smoothly to their marker, which bounces and comes to the front.
Click a marker on the map – the list scrolls to that provider, centers them, and briefly highlights the card.

5. Viewing Provider Profiles

Profile button – opens a popup with their full profile, experience, and services.
Add to Team – save them into your own custom team list.
Connect – send a connection request (when logged in).

6. Managing Your Team

You can:

Create multiple lists (e.g. Math Tutors, Therapy Providers).
Add a title and featured image for each list.
Remove members or delete entire lists from the View My Team popup.

7. Helpful Notes

You must be logged in to see results.
Online providers appear regardless of your location. In-person providers depend on your address and distance.
Adjust your filters if you don’t see enough matches.
