Creative Specialty Services offers a variety of customized support options for children and families in the East Valley, with convenient locations in Mesa, Chandler, and Phoenix. Services include one-on-one and small group sessions, available both in-person and virtually. We specialize in personalized tutoring, social skills groups, vocational and life skills training, as well as curriculum development and IEP (Individualized Education Plan) creation and progress tracking. Our comprehensive services also include educational guidance, advocacy, and inclusion programs designed to help children thrive academically, socially, and personally. At Creative Specialty Services, we focus on building life skills and empowering families for long-term success.
Why I started the Business
I founded Creative Specialty Services out of my deep love and passion for teaching children of all needs, learning abilities, and styles. With over 20 years of experience in education, I’ve dedicated my career to meeting children where they are in their educational journey and providing them with the tools and support they need to succeed.
As a parent of a child with Autism, I bring a unique perspective on the challenges families face navigating the education system. This personal experience, combined with my professional background, allows me to cater and modify curriculum to support each child’s unique learning style. I focus on tutoring that is child-led, child-centered, and interest-driven, ensuring that every lesson is engaging and geared toward understanding. I am passionate about helping children gain mastery in their learning, using methods that promote confidence and long-term success. My goal is to empower families by guiding them through the complexities of education and resources such as ESA, DDD, and ALTCCS.

My name is Julie Johnson, and I am the proud owner of Creative Specialty Services. My journey into the world of education and child development began at a young age, driven by a deep love of working with children and a passion for helping them experience growth and progress. At just 15 years old, I began an internship in a classroom for children with Autism, and it was then that I truly fell in love with the field. The joy of watching children achieve moments of understanding and success was something that captivated me, and I knew I had found my calling.
Since then, I’ve spent over 20 years honing my skills and knowledge to better support children of all needs, learning styles, and abilities. My commitment to helping children succeed has led me to seek opportunities outside of the traditional classroom, allowing me to customize my approach and ensure that each child receives the support they need to thrive.
In addition to my professional experience, I am also a parent of a child with Autism. This personal experience gives me a unique and valuable perspective on the challenges families face while navigating the education system. I understand the complexities and emotions involved, as well as the resources available, such as ESA, DDD, and ALTCCS. I use my understanding as both a parent and a professional to advocate for and guide families through their educational journeys, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to succeed.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is witnessing the “Ah-ha” moment when a child finally grasps a concept, and I take great joy in celebrating the progress that each child makes along the way. It is my mission to create an environment where every child can experience these moments of success, regardless of their learning challenges. At Creative Specialty Services, I focus on providing personalized and child-centered tutoring, curriculum development, social skills training, and life skills support, all tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
