Hi! I’m Laurie with Sunshine Sunflower Studio. We have two studios in the Valley – one in the Melrose district to serve Central Phoenix, and one in Laveen to serve the South Mountain area.
We offer opportunities for our community to make memories and masterpieces together in mediums such as pottery wheel & clay classes, art and painting classes for both children and adults. We also offer summer camp, birthday parties, and corporate events.

Why I started the Business
After many years of teaching art in public schools and community art centers, I was excited to open my own art studio in 2020. I feel that humanity has a special connection to working with clay and I wanted to provide opportunities for our community to create memories and masterpieces together. Clay is such a great medium for kids as well as adults – it develops fine and gross motor skills, creative problem-solving skills, lowers blood pressure and encourages relaxation.

About Me
I am a wife, mom, and grandma in addition to being a certified art teacher and small business owner. I have been working in education since 2001, and art education specifically since 2006. I am very passionate about the importance of the arts and I love sharing my lifetime of knowledge and experience with others to help them to bring their ideas to life in a warm, encouraging, and judgment-free environment.
