Dyslexia Summer Reading Program

Improve reading skills by one grade level or more with an accelerated dyslexia summer reading program

Is your child struggling to keep up at school? Dyslexia is a common language processing disorder that prevents millions of students from succeeding in the traditional classroom. This summer, the Dyslexia Summer Reading Program is kicking off May 27 at the Reading and Math Clinic in Tempe, AZ. The clinic is currently accepting new students for an intensive dyslexia reading program to improve reading skills by one or more grade levels.

What is Dyslexia?

Dyslexia is a reading disability marked by problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words (aka decoding).

Causes of Dyslexia

Dyslexia is the result of individual differences in areas of the brain responsible for processing language. Specifically, dyslexia is often caused by the under-development of the left hemisphere.

Warning Signs

Premature birth, chronic childhood ear infections, and having dyslexic relatives increase the chance of having dyslexia. Skipping and guessing words or avoiding reading are signs to look for when assessing if your child might be struggling with dyslexia.

Treatments

While dyslexia can’t be cured, specialized reading therapy can help students learn to use different parts of their brains to process sounds in a way that works for them. Research has shown a 1-on-1 multisensory curriculum can provide dyslexic students the system they need to improve their reading skills by multiple grade levels. This system works by teaching students how to use their sense of touch, a part of their brain unaffected by dyslexia, to process language in a way their left hemisphere cannot.

The Reading and Math Clinic helps students improve their reading skills with specialized, multisensory curriculum in personalized, one-on-one sessions.

Our reading therapists will engage your child in interactive lessons that tap into their unique strengths. Unlike the traditional classroom environment, our program offers focused, one-on-one instruction tailored to the specific needs of your child. Our curriculum not only gives students the skills they’ll need to succeed in the year to come, but provides tools they’ll be able to apply to all of the academic demands ahead of them.

If you’re concerned your child might be struggling with dyslexia, scheduling a free dyslexia screening could be the first step on your child’s journey to reading confidently.

What prior clients have to say:

“Life changing! The combination of an excellent teaching staff, outstanding director and fantastic program design is truly a winning combination. After trying several therapies and programs, my son looks forward to going. The program was tailored to his needs. He feels his success and the staff celebrate those successes with him. This place has been a game changer for us. I would recommend this particular program to anyone… truly outstanding.”

“I am so glad that I made the decision to start my daughter on the 80 hour reading program over the summer. Even on 1to1 Zoom sessions… the lessons were very effective. My daughter was more confident entering 6th grade at Chandler Prep… She is a much more independent learner. Report cards came out today and she received 3 A’s and 2 B+’s. This is extraordinary!”
