Weekend Overnight Respite Provider
Weekend caregiver for 16-year-old NON-VERBAL autistic boy – Special Needs experience required.
This is a Friday to Sunday – Every other weekend overnight position which would arrive Friday afternoon and stay until Sunday afternoon/early evening.
This is an ideal position for someone that has or wants experience working with special needs people.
This role requires someone that is physically active – walking, swimming and can keep up with my son.
The person in this role will serve as a companion that will attend fun events – concerts, games, zoos, various outings – over the weekends and help if we take any family trips. My son is a non-verbal gentle giant, he is 6’7”, you must be kind, but firm and re-direct/provide guidance when needed.
The person in this position would be a caregiver over the weekends to supervise meals, self-care/hygiene activities such as showering, restroom visits (primarily to ensure it is done correctly and completely), bedtime routine and ensure he is safe where you all venture.
